Thoughts:

I said awhile back that I wished I could time travel. I wanted to go back to a time when it was fashionable to be in love and music was the heartbeat that kept that love alive. I start thinking about how love was so special and romantic back then and I feel great sadness. Romance is lost in this day and age. When was the last time you received or wrote a penned letter? Oh right, people don’t use paper and pens to write letters anymore. How sad. Stationary? What’s that? Yes, I’m referring to the beautiful paper people use to use to write those beautiful heart felt messages on. Now we have impersonal emails and texts. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the convenience they provide. It’s wonderful to have the ability to instantly communicate with someone. Oh wait, isn’t that what the phone was developed for? Yes. I believe that was the step beyond letters. Life has just become too impersonal for me. I don’t care about convenience. I have such disdain for certain technologies and yet I am forced to acknowledge the benefits these wonders provide. I am writing this on said technology.

It’s also saddening to know you will never know what my handwriting is like. Nor will you ever feel the sensation and excitement it would have given you to open the mailbox and receive a beautiful envelope with your name written directly on the front and to be filled with immediate questioning thoughts of what was waiting for you inside. I know not everyone shares my thoughts, but I miss the days of yesteryear.
